President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that Republican candidates would perform better than expected in the midterm elections. He spoke by phone from the White House, where he plans to watch the results as polls close. Trump asked Americans to vote for his party and repeated his criticism of Democratic opponents, calling them radicals and jihadists.

The president highlighted the success of more than 20 rallies he held in various states over the past month. Most of these stops were in states that have historically supported Republicans. Trump said the venues were full and that the crowd sizes were the largest he had ever seen. He believed the energy from those events would influence the outcome on election night. He described the enthusiasm and love for the country as tremendous.

Recent polls show Trump’s approval rating at low levels. Inflation stands at 3.7 percent. Gas prices have risen due to the conflict with Iran. Despite these economic factors, Trump insisted the United States is in its best moment. He contrasted the country’s standing with Europe, which he said is crumbling. He argued that the world’s most respected nation must maintain its position to prevent radical left candidates from taking power.

Trump has been active on Truth Social since early Tuesday morning. He posted calls to support Republican applicants in Alaska, Iowa, Kansas, and Michigan. These states could determine which party holds the majority in the Senate. Unlike other countries, the United States does not have a blackout period for campaigning. Candidates continued to hold events on Tuesday to mobilize voters before the polls closed.

Earlier in October, Trump said he would accept the election results if the process was clean. He added that he would find a way to work with the opposition. However, on Monday, he stated he would veto bills that did not align with his agenda. He has expressed doubts about the security of the U.S. Election system, even though experts and election officials have affirmed its reliability.

The Trump administration deployed approximately 1,000 observers for the first time in U.S. Election history. The Department of Justice described this as the largest election observation operation in its history. These observers are monitoring the voting process as voters decide the political direction of the country for the next two years.
