The 2026 Subaru Trailseeker runs from 0 to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds, making it the quickest Subaru ever produced. This electric crossover outperforms the WRX STi by more than half a second.

The vehicle produces 375 horsepower and 396 pound-feet of torque. It utilizes dual electric motors to shift torque across the wheels. The car comes with a range of 274 miles on a full charge.

Fast charging from 10 to 80 percent takes 28 minutes. A standard 240-volt home charger requires approximately 10 hours to reach a full charge. These figures are competitive within the electric vehicle market.

Subaru assembled the Trailseeker in Gunma, Japan. The base model starts at $39,995. The Touring trim tested by the reviewer cost $48,305. This price point is similar to a turbocharged Outback XT with premium leather.

Casey Williams, an auto reviewer for the Dallas Voice, drove the Touring edition. He noted that the car feels like a futuristic wagon rather than a standard Outback. The vehicle features a swept nose and strings of LED headlamps.

The interior includes a 14-inch widescreen infotainment system and a flatscreen gauge cluster. The dashboard features dual charging pads and a heated steering wheel. The Touring model includes Harman Kardon audio and a panoramic sunroof.

Williams praised the all-road performance of the vehicle. The Trailseeker has 8.5 inches of ground clearance and 20-inch wheels. It includes X-Mode for snow and dirt, as well as Hill Descent Control for steep inclines.

The car offers safety features such as crash avoidance and a rear camera mirror. This mirror provides a clear view behind the vehicle regardless of cargo load. Williams described the handling as effortless compared to previous Subaru models.

Subaru did not offer a Wilderness version of the Trailseeker. Williams noted that this omission is a drawback for off-road enthusiasts. He suggested that a specialized version could attract more buyers seeking overland capability.

Competitors for the Trailseeker include the Chevy Blazer EV, Hyundai IONIQ5 XRT, and Jeep Wagoneer S. The Trailseeker maintains the styling cues of the Outback while adding electric powertrain efficiency. The vehicle is available for purchase now.
