Dallas County polls open at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, November 3, for the final day of the General and Joint Election. This is the last opportunity for eligible voters to cast a ballot in person. The county will accept mail ballots until 7 p.m. on the same day.

Elections Administrator Paul Adams reported that nearly 630,000 Dallas County residents voted during the early voting period. That total includes over 607,000 in-person votes and more than 20,000 mail ballots received so far. Adams noted that 2,567 voters cast Limited Ballots, a record high for the county.

"We prepared for this election as if it were a presidential year, and Dallas County voters showed up in record numbers," Adams said. "I’m proud of our staff and election workers for their hard work so far, and I want to remind voters that they still have one last day to cast their ballot: Tuesday, November 3rd."

Voters can cast their ballots at any of the county's 444 Vote Centers. These locations operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day. The Dallas County Elections Department lists all centers on its website. Voters can use the location finder at DallasCountyVotes.org to view wait times and driving directions.

State law requires in-person voters to present specific identification. Acceptable forms include a Texas Driver License, Texas Election Identification Certificate, or Texas Personal Identification Card issued by the Texas Department of Public Safety. Voters may also use a Texas Handgun License, U.S. Military Identification Card, U.S. Citizenship Certificate, or U.S. Passport.

Those who chose to vote by mail have two options for returning their ballots. Carriers can postmark ballots by 7 p.m. on Election Day, with delivery allowed until 5 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4. Voters can also return mail ballots in person at the Dallas County Elections Department at 1520 Round Table Dr. in Dallas. In-person mail ballot returns must be completed by 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Elections Department advises voters to verify their registration status online. A sample ballot is available for download. Voters can bring a printed copy of this sample to the polls for reference. Questions can be directed to the department at (469) 627-VOTE.
