Savannah Guthrie, the host of the NBC morning show TODAY, renewed her public appeal for information on Sunday regarding the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie, 84. The 84-year-old woman was reported missing on Feb. 1, 2026, from her residence in Tucson, Arizona. Guthrie asked viewers to share any details they might have about the case.

Guthrie posted an image to Instagram on Sunday showing a drawing created by her young daughter. The artwork depicts a blue umbrella surrounded by raindrops. Beneath the drawing, a handwritten message reads, “I know it may not seem like it, but I really need my mom.” Guthrie noted that the sketch reflects how she feels about her mother’s absence.

In the caption, Guthrie addressed her close family members, including Annie and Tommy, and Cam and Kristine. She also mentioned her brother Mike and their nephews and nieces. “We miss her so deeply, we are begging for answers, we cannot move forward,” she wrote. She urged anyone with information to step forward to help the family find closure.

Authorities have indicated that a ransom demand was part of the crime. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department leads the investigation, with the Federal Bureau of Investigation providing assistance. In July, investigators told the public that a hair sample found at Nancy Guthrie’s home did not lead to a specific suspect. The sample failed to identify anyone after laboratory analysis.

A specialized task force continues to follow leads in an effort to locate Nancy Guthrie and any individuals involved in her disappearance. The sheriff’s office recently stated on social media that team members traveled to Florida to meet with laboratory scientists. They are evaluating additional methods to advance the case.

Guthrie described her mother as “a light in this world” and said the tragedy has changed her family permanently. She expressed a desire for answers that would allow the family to celebrate Nancy Guthrie’s life and provide her with the dignity she deserves. The host reminded the public that a reward for information remains active in the case.

Guthrie ended her message with a direct plea to the public. “We are begging you,” she wrote. “Please help us.” The family continues to wait for news that has not arrived nine months after the initial report to police.
