More than 10 million Texans are expected to cast ballots in this year’s midterm elections, a figure that would set a new record for participation in non-presidential cycles. Data from Hunt Research indicates that early voting is already tracking toward that milestone, with roughly 19 million voters currently registered across the state.

The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex continues to exert disproportionate influence on statewide outcomes, contributing approximately one-third of all votes cast in Texas. In the primary contests earlier this year, Democratic registrants outnumbered Republican registrants during the early voting period. Analysts note that rural counties will likely provide the decisive surge on Election Day, pushing the total past previous highs.

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa addressed supporters at a rally in Fort Bend County on Saturday. She characterized the race as a contest between local governance and outside influence, specifically citing the financial backing provided by billionaire Elon Musk to the Republican party. Hinojosa stated, "It is the fight to decide: Is this going to be a Texas that is by and for the people? Or is this the billionaires' world and we just live here?" She also filed a lawsuit seeking the release of emails between Governor Greg Abbott and Musk, who has donated approximately $200 million to Republican efforts.

U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico stood alongside Hinojosa in Fort Bend. He emphasized the competitive nature of the election, telling the crowd, "No one ever thought that we would get this close, and we understand what the stakes are."

Across the state, Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ken Paxton held a separate rally in Fort Worth. The current Texas Attorney General promoted his "Protecting the Texas Promise Plan," which proposes tax incentives for new homeowners, medical expenses, and healthy living habits. Paxton urged his audience to discuss these policy differences with their households, saying, "Talk to your friends. Talk to your family. Tell them the difference between the parties."

Demographic data from the early vote shows that women comprise about 54% of those who have voted so far. The early electorate is approximately 53% white, 25% Hispanic, and 10% Black. Voters under the age of 45 make up about 30% of the early voting demographic.

Candidates completed their final public appearances on Saturday, leaving the remaining time before the November 3 election to private campaigning and media advertisements. Election Day voting is scheduled to begin on Monday morning across all 254 counties in the state.
