Residents of Dallas County can watch a musical tribute to salsa pioneer Willie Colón during the 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. The ceremony airs live on Thursday, November 12, at 8 p.m. Central Time. The broadcast runs for three hours and is available on Univision, ViX, UNIMÁS, and Galavisión.
The Academy Latina de la Grabación announced the lineup for the tribute segment earlier this week. The performance honors Colón, who is credited with revolutionizing urban salsa through aggressive trombone arrangements and socially conscious lyrics. He was known locally and internationally as the 'Malo del Bronx.'
The tribute marks Colón's legacy across more than six decades of musical work. The Academy previously revealed the full list of nominees and announced a separate homage to José Alfredo Jiménez. The Willie Colón segment adds a second major retrospective to the evening's programming.
Musical director Ennio Gatti will lead the ensemble. Participating artists include Miguel Colón, Ángel 'Cuccu' Peña, Luis Enrique, Nathy Peluso, Grupo Niche, Fonseca, Luis Figueroa, and Niña Pastori. These performers will share the stage for the dedicated segment.
The event is scheduled for the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Viewers in Central Time will see the main broadcast begin at 8 p.m. A pre-show program called Noche de Estrellas will air at 7 p.m. Central. This segment covers the red carpet arrivals and precedes the main ceremony.
The 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards represent the annual ceremony for Latin music excellence. The 2026 edition features both competitive awards and special tributes. The Willie Colón performance is part of the scheduled entertainment for the night.
The broadcast schedule is fixed for November 12. Channels include Univision, ViX, UNIMÁS, and Galavisión. The pre-show begins at 7 p.m. Central Time, followed by the main program at 8 p.m. Central Time. The venue is the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
