Jesús de Miguel, the forward for CD Tenerife, died on November 3, 2026, following a collapse during a match against FC Andorra. The club confirmed his death on the morning of November 3. De Miguel suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest after a collision with FC Andorra goalkeeper Jesús Owono. He lost consciousness on the field before medical staff could intervene.

The incident occurred during a specific play, with Owono striking De Miguel in the chest. Paramedics attended to the player on the pitch. De Miguel was a member of the Salamanca club previously, according to his teammate Fernando Román. The 2026-11-03 report from El Español noted that the player's parents traveled from Navahermosa to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. They arrived upon learning of their son's serious medical condition.

María, De Miguel's partner, and their one-year-old daughter, Carla, were seated in the stadium stands during the incident. According to El Español, they watched the collision and the subsequent medical response in real time. The club did not release specific statements about María and Carla in its initial announcement of the death.

Fernando Román, a defender and former teammate of De Miguel, provided details about the aftermath. In a Tuesday interview with the program 'Vamos a ver,' Román stated that he and his partner spent the afternoon and night speaking with María. She was alone in the hospital until De Miguel's relatives arrived that evening. Román described the situation as very difficult for María during that waiting period.

Román and De Miguel had lived together in Madrid and spent considerable time with their respective partners and children. Román said he was in a state of shock and did not believe he would not see De Miguel again. He mentioned that the two players had been discussing a trip to Disney with their daughters just before the incident. Román confirmed he remained in contact with the deceased's relatives.

In a social media post on X, Román shared photographs and a farewell message. He described De Miguel as humble and hardworking. Román recalled a trip to Punta Cana with their partners and the time spent with their children. He stated that he and his partner, Tamara, were devastated by the loss.

Román concluded his message by saying De Miguel would be missed by his family. He directed a virtual embrace to María, Carla, and the rest of the family. The post ended with a wish for De Miguel to rest in peace.
