Brookhaven Hosts Soccer District Play

Dallas College Brookhaven will host the NJCAA Division III South District Women's Soccer Tournament beginning Tuesday, Oct. 27. The No. 2-ranked Bears are defending their league dominance after finishing the season unbeaten.

The Bears secured their 10th consecutive Dallas Athletic Conference title. Because of their standing, Brookhaven and runner-up Dallas College Mountain View earned quarterfinal byes. Both teams will enter the bracket for Wednesday's semifinals.

Dallas College Richland faces Dallas College Eastfield in the first quarterfinal match at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Cedar Valley and North Lake compete in the second quarterfinal at 6 p.m. Tuesday. These matchups repeat the final regular season games for those teams.

The tournament schedule continues Wednesday with the semifinals. Brookhaven plays the lowest remaining seed at 4 p.m. Mountain View faces the highest remaining seed in the second semifinal.

The championship game is set for 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. The Bears have won seven district titles in a row and nine in total. Richland was the last team outside of Brookhaven to win the district championship, doing so in 2018.
