Addison: BigXthaPlug brought his new album and its companion short film to Cinemark in Addison on Monday night, Oct. 26, giving North Texas fans an early look before the project reaches other cities. The rapper attended the screening and performed "Give It All" afterward in the theater lobby for guests gathered there.

The event featured the 18-track album "Better Over Time" alongside the short film, which depicts BigX's life through his parents' eyes and ends on a cliffhanger. The film also includes footage from the BigXThaPlug and Friends Birthday Bash held in South Dallas in May. "There's never been nothing done like this before from a Dallas artist," said Dee 'DJ Bubba' Brown, the rapper's DJ, addressing the audience before the screening.

"Better Over Time" is BigX's fourth solo album and his return to hip-hop after the country chart success of 2025's "I Hope You're Happy." Guest artists on the record include GloRilla, Lil Yachty, Loe Shimmy, Leon Thomas and Fridayy. Tracks "FAF" with GloRilla, "Heal Me" with Fridayy and "No Limit" with Leon Thomas drew the strongest audience response during the album playback. A snippet of "Give It All" surfaced on social media in June. Singles "Lite" with Belly Gang Kushington followed in September, and "Burn" with Ava Max arrived earlier this month.

After the screening, BigX addressed the crowd, which included family and friends. "I appreciate all of y'all for doing what y'all did, man. For even being here. Celebrating me and supporting me all the way through," he said. He added, "We're going to try to turn it into something long. I know it might have been real short, but I promise y'all we're going to turn it into something longer."

Audience members asked afterward for the short film to appear on streaming platforms. "Better Over Time" releases Friday, Oct. 30. Screenings in Houston, Miami, Charlotte and Los Angeles are scheduled next.

The film's content addresses claims that he "fell off," along with fake friends, family matters and the isolation that comes with wide fame. Track 11, "I Like It," includes lyrics about plans to make pop music.
