The vertical drama industry is consolidating its global reach through a new partnership structure designed to integrate brand investment directly into the production process. On Wednesday, FlareFlow parent COL Group, V47 Entertainment, and Virtue Asia held a presentation in Singapore to reveal their 2027 content slate.

The lineup is anchored by adaptations of Korean webtoons and web novels, a move that signals a deeper collaboration with CJ Group. Among the announced titles is "Idol Once Again," a fantasy narrative about a former celebrity who travels back in time to reclaim fame. The slate also includes "Genius Doctor Lee Mu-jin," based on a webtoon about a street fighter mentored by the ghost of a brilliant physician.

Original content will be developed by COL Group and V47. "The Vanishing Act" centers on a magician who disappears during the finals of an international talent contest. Other original projects include "Fortune Chasers," which mixes scripted reality with thriller elements, and "1% Better," a sports and fitness format pitting unlikely rivals against one another.

The companies plan to extend the IP of three existing hits: "Oops, I Married My Bestie's Brother!," "My Sweetheart's a Gangster," and "From Janitor to Mrs. Billionaire." While the partners intend to use wider distribution and commercial tie-ups to build these franchises, they did not specify the exact form of the follow-ups.

FlareFlow currently serves 52 million registered users across more than 200 countries and regions. The platform offers close to 7,000 short-drama titles. In the first quarter of 2026, FlareFlow ranked first among all rights holders in TikTok's short-drama revenue-share rankings.

The partners introduced Story Engine, an operating model that links development, production, financing, and global distribution. This framework allows brands to act as development partners, executive producers, or financiers, potentially holding a stake in the resulting intellectual property. V47 Entertainment chair David Webster stated that the story must always come first, while noting that brand backing helps ambitious ideas reach audiences.

Lesley John, CEO of Virtue Asia, said brands must earn a place within culture rather than interrupting it. Timothy Oh, chief marketing officer of FlareFlow and general manager of COL Group International, noted that brands have a real opportunity to become part of the entertainment audiences actively choose to watch.
